Looking for the best hotels in Cairo with Pyramid views? Staying in Giza with the Pyramids right outside your window is one of the most extraordinary experiences you can have in Egypt. I love Egypt so, so much. I have travelled there three times, explored the country extensively and keep finding reasons to go back….
The temples of Luang Prabang are one of the main reasons why I fell in love with this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city in Laos. There is something magical about wandering through its quiet streets and unexpectedly finding a golden Buddhist temple hidden around a corner or watching the afternoon light illuminate centuries-old mosaics and…
Pak Ou Caves were one of the biggest surprises of my second visit to Laos. Before arriving in Luang Prabang, I had never even heard of this sacred site overlooking the Mekong River and home to more than 4,000 Buddha statues. Little did I know that this half-day trip would become one of the highlights…
Indonesia vs Thailand is one of the most difficult travel choices in Southeast Asia, and I’ve been there myself. After nearly three decades living in the city center—and guiding visitors through the best things to do in Amsterdam since 2011—I can tell you one thing for certain. Most people looking for things to do in Amsterdam arrive with the completely wrong idea of what this city actually is. Yes, there is a reputation for…
Spring in Amsterdam is, in my opinion, the most beautiful time of the year. From March to May, the city slowly wakes up after winter. It’s still a bit cold — you’ll feel the wind along the canals and you’ll definitely need a jacket — but something starts to change. The first flowers begin to…
